Per Michigan law, you will be asked to show a form of government-issued or school-issued photo ID when you check in to vote. If you don’t have one, you can still vote. If this happens, expect a poll worker to ask you to sign an affidavit before you vote that explains you didn’t have an ID.
In person – Monitor Township Clerk`s Office during regular business hours.
Mail-In – Voter registration forms are available online on this site, at the Monitor Township Office, or at www.michigan.gov/vote.
Any Secretary of State`s Office – Important Notice: Michigan law now requires that the same address be used for voter registration and driver`s license purposes. Therefore, if the residence address you provide when registering to vote differs from the address shown on your Michigan driver`s license or personal identification card, the Secretary of State will automatically update your driver`s license or personal identification card address and mail you an address update sticker for your driver`s license or personal identification card.
Absentee Ballots may be deposited in freshly painted blue Drop Box on the south end of the parking lot just to the right of the “Stop” sign.
If you are at least 16 years old, a U.S. citizen, a Michigan resident, and are not currently serving a sentence in jail or prison, you can register to vote in Michigan. As a registered Michigan voter, you cannot cast a ballot in an election until you are at least 18 years old.
If you are eligible and of-age, you will be automatically registered to vote anytime you complete a Michigan license or ID transaction with the Secretary of State, unless you opt-out. You can also register to vote online at Michigan.gov/Vote, by mail, in person at your local clerk’s office, or through any organizations that register voters.
This site provides residents with information regarding their voter registration status, upcoming elections, clerk information and how to use the voting equipment chosen by their county. The information provided includes registration status and a map and address for the voter`s polling location.
Also, please feel free to call the Clerk`s office at 989-684-7203 (x4) with any questions regarding elections and voter registration.
